Why yes, this is your mandatory Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 gushing post.
Because it needs to be said, and it bears repeating: there hasn't been a game so good in many years. There hasn't been a game with such a bold, non-cliched story in years. There hasn't been a game with systems so simple yet creative and enjoyable in years. There hasn't been a game that has it all in ten years or more. The only possible contender in recent memory is the ineffable Disco Elysium.
Like, the term has been cliched to hell and back, mared in layers upon layers of irony and fear of judgment, but in all honesty, Expedition 33 really has the mythical soul people go on about when words fail them. And not only the dev team put everything they had into it, the result turned out to be simply spectacaular.
So don't dawdle and play it. It doesn't get any better.
